Ryan Gordon
Hello! My name is Ryan Gordon. I am a graduate of Outreach Ministries of Alabama. I lived a life of drug addiction for 11 years before entering OMA. After years of battling, trying everything to fulfill my brokenness and emptiness, I came to a dark place in which I had lost hope in everything and everyone. I woke up every morning wishing rather to die than to go through another day. I hated who I had become and the things I was doing. I wanted to quit, but I couldn’t, I had no control over my life. I was powerless.
Through the years people had told me about God, especially my parents, so I knew OF Him but I didn’t KNOW Him. I cried out to God numerous times during my journey and He brought me to a place where I had nowhere else to run to but Him. I finally came to a place of surrender, I was through running and fighting.
That is when I made the decision to go to OMA. I had previous opportunities to make that move but I was not ready to commit to the sacrifice that choice would require. But when God brought me to that place where I was so tired of fighting it brought so much peace and freedom in my life. I came to find more joy in OMA than I had ever had in my life before. I became acquainted with Jesus and who He is. I began to experience Him for the first time for myself! I was sold out. There was no turning back! I found life, fulfillment, purpose, relationship, and most of all, love.
In the world, I didn’t think I would ever experience freedom. I thought my life was over and that I would have to deal with what I had done to myself for the rest of my life. I didn’t think I would ever have the things that I truly desired in life…such as a wife, children, and people that really cared about me.
BUT GOD…
Now that I am eight years into following the Lord, I can honestly say that it has been so rewarding! Not always easy, but rewarding nonetheless. There is nowhere else I would rather be. I’ve been married for four years to my beautiful wife, Abigail. We have a gorgeous two-year-old, Alizah, who is the most fun and loving little girl you will ever meet. God has truly been SO good to me. He has fulfilled the desires of my heart even when I didn’t think I was deserving of it.
My wife and I both have very successful and growing businesses and we get to minister and bless others through our work. God has also blessed us with some amazing relationships in our lives. It has been a huge blessing to serve the Lord.
Remember that no matter how hard it gets, no matter the trials that come, God is there with a blessing around every corner if you look to Him for help. For me, it has been a process and a journey, but for every hard season that has come, He has always come through for me. He is so faithful! I have been saved by grace through my faith in Him, through believing in Him, I am now a redeemed child of God.
